The purpose of a 'Challenge Coin' is a small coin or medallion, bearing an organization's insignia or emblem and carried by the organization's members. Typically collected and traded by service members and law enforcement personnel.

Traditionally, they might be given to prove membership when challenged and to enhance morale, raise awareness and inspire the fellowship.

Rich Ward

Started Shotokan training under Sensei Jeff Heermans in Vail, Co 1989 and then Sensei John Nunez at Mankato St University. Rich then Joined the United States Marine Corps in 1993, taking a 25-year break from Karate.

In 2018, Rich re-joined ISKF Mountain States training under Sensei Tatsuun Ryu and Sensei Dale Weyant. The Dojo Kun is a foundation to ISKF as the Esprit De Corps is a foundation to the United States Marine Corps. Both promoting morale, encouraging members to maintain a belief in an institution or goal, daily becoming a better person....physically and mentally.
